This is the seventh week of our summer 2009
interactive project for sharing ideas how you,
as a job seeker with a visual impairment, can
effectively use social media for networking and
gain meaningful employment.
How can you keep your social network involved?
You want to make sure you are at the top of their
minds (that they have automatically become "enrolled"
in your support group as you search for your job) so
they'll feed helpful information to you and you'll
have an opportunity to help them in return.
How do individuals get "enrolled" in your job
marketing campaign? Express appreciation for the help
you receive and help them in return.
If someone helps you with a referral let them know how
valuable it was for your job marketing effort.
It's not much different than keeping the contacts
that you gain through in-person informational
interviewing enrolled. To find out how this works,
go to "Keeping Your Contacts Enrolled" at
http://www.esight.org/view.cfm?x=1171
For the 10 ideas I've collected for helping members of
your network become active participants in your job
search go to my entry for this week on the eSight
Networking Forum at
http://www.esight.org/link.cfm?n=1626
Then, please tell us what you think by replying to
this question in the eSight Networking Forum:
How do you keep your network interested in your
job search efforts?
