October 21, 2009 is Disability Mentoring Day

Have you registered for Disability Mentoring Day, yet?

Disability Mentoring Day, sponsored nationally by The American Association of People with Disabilities is one of the highlights of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

On Disability Mentoring Day, people with disabilities across the country spend a day finding out first-hand about the skills and education needed to succeed in the workplace of the 21st century.

At the same time, employers gain an increased appreciation of the talent represented by people with disabilities and a better understanding of how workers with disabilities can help them in meeting their workplace needs.

Local corporate leaders, as well as students and job seekers with disabilities, are encouraged to get involved in this year's activities.

If you are interested in participating in Disability Mentoring Day - whether as a student/job-seeker, a volunteer mentor, or to help plan events - contact a Local Coordinator in your community.
