- Opening Keynote Speaker: Dr. Paul Longmore of San Francisco State University. Paul, a person with a severe disability, is a Professor of History at SFSU and has written extensively on disability perceptions throughout history and focuses also on how media shapes our perceptions.
Closing Keynote Speaker: Ms. Judith Heumann, currently the Director of the Department of Disability Services for the City of Washington DC. Judy is one of the original leaders of the Disability Rights Movement and held a number of National and International posts promoting the rights of persons with disabilities. She founded the World Institute on Disability and was a President Clinton appointee to the World Bank focusing on disability issues in developing countries. Her perspective and experience will be thought provoking and insightful for all of us working with today's college students with disabilities.
